Do you ever feel like life’s passing you by while you’re trying to figure out that one thing you’re meant to do?
There are soooo many options. So many passions to pursue. So many careers to explore. It’s exciting…
You don’t know what to pick and so you don’t pick anything.
Guess how I know? I’ve been there, too.
When I left school, I had no idea what to do with my life. It’s not that I didn’t like anything. I just liked too many things to commit to one.
I had a knack for foreign languages, so I toyed with the idea of becoming a translator.
I loved all things makeup and skincare, so I dreamed of becoming a makeup artist to the stars.
I’m great at organising, so everyone told me I should be a personal assistant.
I’m both passionate about and skilled at writing, so I thought I could write a beauty column for some magazine (and get my hands on free makeup products in the bargain).
And this isn’t even the full list of career options I could explore (told you I’m multi-passionate)…
What do you do when you could do all the things?
Should you focus on what you’re most skilled at, go into the most profitable industry, or settle for something that doesn’t excite you while you figure things out in your head?
I did all 3 at different stages… and none of them worked.
Because it’s not about what you could do. It’s about what you WANT to do.
It’s Not What You Could Do. It’s What You Want To Do.
You can do anything you set your mind to. But do you really want to?
I knew I could be a great personal assistant. But, when I tried it, I found the job boring and repetitive. I couldn’t wait to quit!
Just because you’re great at something, it doesn’t mean it brings you joy.
Follow the joy.
If something feels good, it can never be wrong.
That good feeling is a sign. It’s your intuition pointing you in the right direction.
Your mind will always lead you astray. It likes to focus on what’s realistic, how much money you can make, or how many years you’ve already invested in a career. It doesn’t like change.
Your soul doesn’t care about any of that. It doesn’t want you to be realistic. It wants you to fulfill your calling. When you’re getting closer, you’ll know it. It feels GOOD.

What If One Day It Stops Feeling Good?
Most people are scared of doing what feels good because feelings are fleeting.
What if you start a life coaching business and, two years later, all the passion is gone and your job doesn’t feel good anymore?
Change. Pivot. Do something else.
I’ll tell you a secret: it’s totally ok to change your mind about what to do with your life.
Human beings are multi-faced, ever-evolving creatures. We’re not meant to do just one thing for the rest of our lives.
Think about it. Are you the same person now you were 10 years ago? Do you still like the same things and have the same goals?
Of course not! Just like you’re always changing, your business will change with you. Sometimes, you can just pivot and target a different audience. Other times, you’ll want to shut it down and do something completely different. That’s ok.
If you don’t enjoy what you’re doing, that’s a sign you’re ready for a change. Pick something else – something that brings you joy – and follow that.
It’s your life. You get to make the rules and change your mind as many times as you want.
So, forget about all the things you could do.
What do you really want to do right now?
Go do that.
