I don’t believe in New Year’s resolutions. Somehow, they always fizzle out before January is over.
But I believe there’s never a right time to find your calling, start your business, do that thing that, in your heart, you know you were born to do.
And so, the beginning of a new year is as good a time as any to get started. Because if not now, when?

If You Can’t Do It Now…
It’s ok if you can’t do it all right now. No one expects you to figure out what to do for the rest of your life this very second or to build a six-figures business in a month.
But you can get started. You can take the first step.
You can ask a friend if you can redo their website to get a taste of what it’d be like to pursue your passion for website design professionally.
You can take that podcasting course to find out what it really takes to start the podcast you’ve been thinking about for the past six months.
You can buy a domain name for your business website and slowly start to build your online presence.
Because, if not now, when?

Stop Waiting For The Perfect Time To Get Started
If you’re waiting for the perfect time when the stars align, when you have enough money in the bank, enough experience under your belt, enough qualifications hanging on your office walls, enough confidence not to feel like a fraud all the effing time… guess what?
That perfect time is never gonna happen.
I started The Treasures Within as a side hustle, funding it with the money I made from another business I still run (onthe side) today. I didn’t have enough experience or qualifications (I got them along the way and am still always practicing, learning, improving). I still feel like a fraud a lot (not all) of the time.
But I got started. Because I couldn’t bear the thought of spending another year doing something that didn’t light me up.

The More You Wait, The Harder It Gets
You think that time will make things easier. That if you only wait, you’ll somehow find the money to invest in your dreams under a tree. That one day you’ll wake up full of confidence, finally ready to pursue your dreams without any obstacles standing in your way.
Time only makes things harder. Every day that you say no to your calling, your confidence dies a little. You lose the opportunity to gain the experience. You pass on the chance to enrol in that programme and get the certification. And the money situation never gets better.
If waiting only makes things worse, why wait? If not now, when?
You can let another year go by hoping the starts will align… but what if they don’t?
If they don’t, start anyway. Because there’s never a right time to start. There’s only now.
And if not now, then when?
